In the Pilbara Cities announcement in Port Hedland on 27 November 2009, State Minister for Regional Development Brendon Grylls confirmed Auzcorp as the successful tenderer for major housing projects in Port Hedland and Karratha to ease the serious residential accommodation shortage in the Pilbara.
Adjacent to the South Hedland Town Centre, on a 15 hectare site, Auzcorp will build a residential housing project called Australia Cove with approximately 400 town houses, apartments and single residences, plus supporting facilities and services. Engineering works for the first stage commence early 2010.
